WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Chicago men's track and field team recorded a seventh-place team finish at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater "Squig" Converse Invitational on Friday.
The host Warhawks topped the nine-team field with 117.5 points while the Maroons were seventh with 47.5 points.
UChicago's men ended up placing in the top five in four different events. The 4x200-meter relay team was a winner in a time of 1:33.22. The relay was composed of senior Temisan Osowa, senior Jatan Anand, sophomore Markus Diehl and freshman Elliott Paintsil. Junior Patrick LeFevre reached the 60-meter hurdles finals and took runner-up in a time of 8.31.
A pair of fourth-place showings came courtesy of junior Jacob Amiri in the 800 meters (1:58.27) and the 4x400-meter relay in 3:24.54. Freshman Tyson Miller, Paintsil, sophomore Ben Chaimberg and junior Nathan Downey ran legs on the 4x400.
