STEVENS POINT, Wis. – In the last meet before the NCAA Division III Championships, the University of Chicago track and field teams took part in a handful of events at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Pointer Final Qualifier on Saturday.
The UChicago women were represented in the sprints. Junior Nicole VacaGuzman was the top finisher with a runner-up showing in the 400 meters, finishing in 57.48. In the 200 meters, sophomore Mary Martin was fourth in 25.85. Sophomore Alisha Harris took 10th in the 60 meters in 7.87. That trio then combined with junior Emma Koether to place second in the 4x400-meter relay (3:59.09).
Sophomore Joe Previdi continued his dominance in the men's 800 meters by winning in a time of 1:53.90. The Maroons also took fourth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:22.04) with the quartet of senior Obinnaya Wamuo, sophomore Elliott Paintsil, junior Ben Chaimberg and sophomore Tyson Miller.
