Alyssa Davis begins her second year as an assistant coach on the Maroon softball staff in 2018.

In 2017, the Maroons qualified for the NCAA postseason for the second-straight year. UChicago posted a 26-14 record and three players were named All-Region.

Davis spent three years as head softball coach at her alma mater Southern Vermont College (2014-16). In her debut season of 2014, she led the Mountaineers to the most wins in program history and a spot in the conference tournament for the first time. SVC equaled that win total again in 2015 as two players picked up all-conference accolades. In 2016, sophomore catcher Nicole Matthews ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III in batting average (.522) and on-base percentage (.582).

As a collegiate student-athlete, Davis played four years of softball for Southern Vermont. She closed out her career as one of the best players in school history, ranking as the all-time leader in on-base percentage, hits, runs, stolen bases, home runs and RBI.

Additionally, Davis was a four-year player on the women's basketball squad. She ranks third in program history with 148 career assists and second with 138 career three-pointers. Davis was named the Scott McKenzie Sportswoman of the Year in both 2011 and 2012, and was picked to the All-NECC Softball First Team in both of those years.

Davis graduated from Southern Vermont in 2012 with her bachelor's degree in business administration/sports management. In April 2016, she was inducted into the Southern Vermont College/Saint Joseph College Athletics Hall of Fame.
