UChicago wrestling drops dual meet to Wheaton 30-13

WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Chicago wrestling team lost a dual meet at No. 23-ranked Wheaton College 30-13 on Wednesday.

The Maroons (0-2) had three wrestlers win their weight classes in their injury-depleted starting lineup. The Thunder improved to 1-1 in dual meets.

Senior Adam Wyeth controlled his weight class at 133 pounds. He won the match against Wheaton wrestler Tom Foy 8-0 to secure a major decision. Sophomore Mike McNulty (149 pounds) defeated Wheaton's Campbell Morton 6-3. The third win came from junior David Gremling at heavyweight via forfeit.

Freshman Devan Richter (125 pounds) and sophomore Justin Klein (141 pounds) came close in their matches but lost 8-5 and 5-2, respectively. Wheaton tallied a technical fall and two pins en route to sweeping five of the final six matches of the evening.
