WAUKESHA, Wis. – Two first-half goals and a stingy defense proved to be enough to keep the No. 2 University of Chicago women's soccer team unbeaten with Sunday's 2-0 victory at Carroll University.

Junior Hanna Watkins netted her team-leading fourth goal of the year in the 23', connecting on a score via Maddie DeVoe's assist to make it 1-0, Maroons.

Twenty minutes later, rookie Nicole Kaspi gave UChicago an insurance goal in the 43', getting the assist from classmate Adriana Shutler to put the visitors up 2-0 at the break.

That would be the last of the scoring for the day, as the Maroons defense held the Pioneers (0-2-2) to just two shots in the final 45 minutes. UChicago outshot Carroll by a 14-3 margin, including 11-2 on goal, and had four corner kicks compared while shutting out the Pioneers in that category.

Katie Donovan (two saves) and Miranda Malone split time in goal to preserve the shutout, UChicago's third of the year.
