Maroon Divers Compete at First Day of NCAA Regional

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago men's and women's diving teams had three divers in action at day one of the NCAA Diving Regional on Friday. UChicago is serving as the host of the two-day meet at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

The women's three-meter dive kicked off the afternoon and featured 18 divers. Sarah Bradley of Calvin College was the winner with 462.66 points over the course of 11 dives. For UChicago, senior Natalie DeMuro placed seventh in the three-meter with a total of 403.85 points. Junior Anna Girlich took 11th with 372.20 points.

The men's one-meter board was next, featuring 27 participants. The winner was Heath Ogawa of Lake Forest College with 523.90 points. The Maroons were represented by first-year Joseph Zhao – he finished in 25th place with 340.10 points scored.
