CHICAGO – A total of 17 University of Chicago swimmers were named official qualifiers on Monday for the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships.

This year's qualifiers include eight men and nine women. The nine women's selections tied for the most women's qualifiers in program history. The NCAA Championships will occur March 21-24 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Four different individuals are currently seeded in the top 10 of their respective events. Sophomore Reona Yamaguchi is the fourth seed in the men's 100-yard breaststroke (54.98). First-year Gillian Gagnard is the fifth seed in the women's 200-yard backstroke (2:00.52). First-year Margaret Wolfson is the sixth seed in the women's 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.99). Sophomore Lance Culjat is the ninth seed in the men's 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.04).

Last year, 18 Maroon qualifiers earned a total of 40 All-American honors. UChicago finished 11th in both the men's and women's team standings.
