CHICAGO, Ill. – Three University of Chicago tennis players were selected as individuals for the singles and doubles draws of the 2014 NCAA Division III Tennis Championships on Wednesday.
A total of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams were picked from each gender to participate in the individual national championships, which will take place from May 22-24 in Claremont, Calif.
On the women's side, junior Megan Tang earned selection in both singles and doubles play for the second year in-a-row. She will be joined by freshman doubles partner Tiffany Chen. Tang currently owns a 22-10 mark in singles, while Tang and Chen are 10-9 in doubles. In the fall, Tang was the USTA/ITA Central Region champion in singles and then finished third at the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships.
In the men's draw, junior Deepak Sabada will also make his second-straight NCAA appearance in singles play. Sabada owns a singles record of 17-11 so far this year. Earlier in the season, he reached the singles final and took second place at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championships.
