CHICAGO – Four University of Chicago volleyball players were selected to the 2017 All-University Athletic Association Team on Wednesday.
Audrey Scrafford earned a spot on the All-UAA First Team for her third-straight conference honor. She was previously named to the Second Team in 2015 and 2016. The junior outside hitter is tied for the conference lead with 3.60 kills per set and is ninth in hitting percentage (.271). She leads the Maroons in both categories, while also adding 23 blocks.
Sarah Muisenga joined Scrafford on the All-UAA First Team. She was also a First Team pick in 2016. The junior rightside hitter ranks fourth in the UAA with 3.18 kills per set. Muisenga is 11th in the conference and third on the team with 3.09 digs per set. She leads UChicago with 34 aces while adding 32 blocks and a .255 hitting percentage.
Emma Griffith was a First Team setter in her rookie campaign. The first-year paces the conference with a 10.46 assists per set, which also ranks 15th in all of NCAA Division III. Her 1,109 assists are the seventh-highest singles-season total in program history. With Griffith leading the offense, UChicago ranks 17th nationally with a .240 team hitting percentage. The setter has also served up 31 aces, recorded 33 blocks and ranks 10th in the UAA with 3.10 digs per set.
Anabella Pinton placed on the All-UAA Second Team for the second-straight year. The sophomore outside hitter is ninth in the conference with 2.88 kills per set. She owns a .254 hitting percentage. Pinton has tallied 38 blocks and is averaging 1.24 digs per set.
