George Villarreal Named Head Men's Swimming Coach



Chicago -- University of Chicago Director of Athletics Tom Weingartner announced today that George Villarreal has been appointed head men's swimming coach and director of aquatics. Villarreal has served as head men's and women's swimming coach at Frostburg State University since 1998.

Joe Nagy Earns All-UAA Honors



Cleveland, Ohio -- The University of Chicago men's and women's swimming teams both finished in eighth place at the 2003 University Athletic Association Championships held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 13-15, at Case Western Reserve University. Junior Joe Nagy (Budapest, Hungary/ American International) turned in the top performance for the men's team as he earned All-UAA honors in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.53 seconds, which was good for an NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying mark.
