Jason Weber begins his second season as the head men's and women's swimming coach at the University of Chicago in 2007-08.

Following a two-year stint as the assistant men's coach at Chicago from 2004-06, Weber was elevated to the head coaching position for the men's and women's programs in June 2006.

In his debut campaign, Weber guided the men's team to a fifth place finish at the 2007 University Athletic Association Championship -- the best showing in school history -- and a 6-2 mark in dual meets. He guided the women's team, which was 5-3 in dual meet competition, to its best UAA performance in 12 years as the Maroons placed sixth.

Chicago placed five swimmers (four men, one woman) on the All-UAA Team in 2007.

During Weber's tenure as the men's assistant coach, the Maroons compiled a dual meet record of 12-5-1 and enjoyed back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in the past 18 years.

Prior to his arrival at Chicago in the fall of 2004, Weber served as a sport partnership intern for the United States Olympic Committee in 2003 and as an assistant age group coach for Conejo Simi Aquatics in Thousand Oaks, California, from October 2002 to August 2003.

Weber, who also serves as Chicago's director of aquatics, is a 2002 graduate of Brown University with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

He was a member of the Brown swimming team from 1998-2002 and in 2000 competed in the United States Olympic Trials. He received a master's degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco in 2004.
