Maroons Raise Money for Cancer Research

The Maroons participated in the fourth annual Ted Mullin Hour of Power on Nov. 10. The event featured two special guest speakers: Dr. Steve Skapek, who’s the lead doctor and researcher for the Ted Mullin Sarcoma Research Fund located at the University of Chicago, and Dave Saper, a fourth-year medical student at Chicago who was a high school friend of Ted Mullin. The Maroons raised just over $1,000, almost double their previous high which also accomplished their goal of getting Head Coach Jason Weber to swim. Next year, if the Maroons can raise at least $2,000, Dr. Skapek and Coach Weber will swim the Hour of Power with the team.
