CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior Jacob Solus (Crestwood, Ill./ Oak Forest) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for men's indoor track & field. Solus reached an NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying standard at last Friday's Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational with a leap of 14.41 meters in the triple jump.
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's indoor track & field team won the five-team Phoenix Invitational Saturday at the Henry Crown Field House. Senior Bill Cheng (Island Lake, Ill./ Wauconda), who won the 55-meter dash, was among seven Maroons to claim first-place finishes.
