CHICAGO -- Five members of the University of Chicago volleyball team have been selected to the 2009 All-University Athletic Association Team, the conference announced today. Sophomore outside hitter Isis Smalls (Humble, Texas/ Atascocita) was chosen to the All-UAA First Team -- the first Maroon to be so honored in 13 years.
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago volleyball team captured third place at the 2009 University Athletic Association Championship as play concluded Saturday at the Ratner Athletics Center. After falling to fourth-ranked and eventual champion Emory University in pool play, the Maroons rallied to defeat New York University in the third-place match.
CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman Samantha Brown (Louisville, Ky./ Mercy Academy) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for volleyball, the conference announced today. Brown averaged 5.74 digs per set as the Maroons won three of five matches during the first week of the 2009 campaign.
