Chicago Places 6th at UAA Championship
 ST. LOUIS -- The University of Chicago volleyball team finished in sixth place at the 2008 University Athletic Association Championship Friday and Saturday at Washington (Mo.) University. Chicago went 1-2 in pool play, defeating the University of Rochester 25-21, 25-13, 25-20 before falling to Brandeis University 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 24-22 and to second-ranked Emory University 25-13, 25-14, 25-20. Chicago then dropped a 24-26, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13 decision to Case Western Reserve University in the fifth-place match. Freshman libero Liane Rousseau (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Mount Notre Dame) set a school record with 38 digs in the loss to Case.

CHICAGO -- Senior middle blocker Kerry Dornfeld (Cary, Ill./ Cary-Grove) (pictured), freshman libero Liane Rousseau (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Mount Notre Dame), and freshman outside hitter Isis Smalls (Humble, Texas/ Atascocita) represented the University of Chicago on the 2008 All-University Athletic Association Volleyball Team, which was released today. All three players garnered honorable mention All-UAA accolades.
