Today we traveled from Queenstown to Christchurch, New Zealand in a beautiful six-hour drive through the country. Upon arrival, we went straight to our youth basketball clinic, put on by our men's and women's teams. It was a great couple of hours culminating in a little dunk contest put on by the men's team. It was a great experience, it seemed, for the kids and definitely for the players and coaches. Later that day, we had the opportunity to eat dinner with the University of Canterbury players. I myself, along with a few others, ate with the women's team. We had a great time learning about their culture socially and in terms of basketball, as well as the similarities and differences to our college experience. All in all, it was a good day for the Maroons.
