Men's basketball updates from Ireland: September 11

Day 1

End of preparation and flight to Dublin

The 10 days of practice before we were to leave for our Ireland trip had a lot of underlying themes. One of the main ones was regaining the bond that had been weakened during the summer months. They were tough, competitive and physically taxing practices that should help our success during this year's season. At the end of the 10 days, we joined the women's team for a meal hosted by Coach Prunty. Mrs. Prunty prepared a beautiful meal for us that we all thoroughly enjoyed. The excitement for Ireland was high during the meal as well as our pre-Ireland gathering after. I'd like to thank the Prunty's, as well as everyone involved in allowing me the opportunity to travel to Ireland with my coaches and best friends.

Day 2

Flight arrives in Dublin
Stop at Clonmacnoise Monastic site
Arrival in Galway

Couldn't have asked for a better day to arrive in Dublin and experience the Irish scenery. After a brief rural drive, we stopped at Clonmacnoise Monastery and learned about the religious and commercial history of the area. After the monastery, we drove into Galway and I got to see my Joyce family flag flying among the 14 tribes of Galway. After exploring the city, we had a great team dinner. It's truly an honor to be here.
