Softball updates from Italy and Spain 2013: Day 9

Hola! Today we woke up and there was BACON for breakfast, thus we knew it was destined to be a wonderful dia. We proceeded to take a tour of Barcelona both by walking and via bus. The first stop was the Parque Guell, which is a beautiful park designed by Antonio Gaudi. Another architectural stop along the way started by Gaudi was the Sagrada Familia (which looks like it can belong in Whoville). This wonderful cathedral has been under construction for over 150 years and is projected to take another 13 years to finish, hopefully with a completion date of 2026 – the 100-year anniversary of Gaudi's death. We then had some free time to walk around Barcelona, one main hot stop being "vamos a la playa."

We concluded our day playing a game. We won 4-2 and were treated like celebrities following the game. Shout out goes to Kat for being called a Barbie with piel porcelana (porcelain skin). The other team then proceeded to cook insane amounts of food for us: tapas, hamburgers and fries. Following the awesome meal, we went back to the hotel for some quality and well deserved sleep. Overall awesome day, can't wait to see what tomorrow brings to us, over and out.
