The Maroons own a 5-2 record to start the season, and have scored at least 82 points in their past four victories.
Head Coach Mike McGrath: "Cole Schmitz is a tireless worker and intense competitor. These two attributes have had an enormous influence on his success and that of our team thus far. He is playing extremely well in all aspects of the game and his approach inspires his teammates to perform better."
Teammate Max Jacobs: "Cole has been huge for us on both sides of the court this year. From an offensive perspective, he’s really shown how he can score in a variety of ways – outside shooting, driving, and posting up smaller guards. He’s also been very effective at using his size to help out our bigs on the boards. On the defensive end, he always guards the other team’s best player, which especially stood out in our upset win at Wheaton. While Cole has enjoyed a great season on the court thus far, he’s also turning into an effective leader off the court. Cole is a major presence in the locker room and someone who the underclassmen especially look up to. It’s been a real treat to watch his development these last three years. I’m excited to see him continue to develop into one of the UAA’s best players."
