Women's Basketball / Forward / Sophomore / St. Louis, Mo.
Majors: Molecular Engineering and Economics
Alison Gill is a sophomore forward on the UChicago women's basketball team. The No. 16-ranked Maroons enter conference play with a 9-2 record overall and an eight-game winning streak.
Head Coach Carissa Sain: "Alison's commitment to this team and her rehab has been amazing to watch. She maintains such a level head as she continues to take small steps towards recovery. She helps her teammates daily from the sidelines supporting and talking to them, providing levity without losing focus. She's engaged in every drill that we do and intent on having an impact. To maintain such strong connections with her teammates while being injured is such a testament to who Alison is as a person. We are so incredibly grateful that she is a part of this program. We wouldn’t be the same without her."
Teammate Miranda Burt: "While we unfortunately lost Alison on the court due to injury before the start of our season, she has still been a tremendous asset to us. Alison is still so dedicated to our team, and never fails to make a practice, lift, or team event in addition to her rehab. She has an uncanny ability to see things developing from the sideline. Alison is great at pulling us aside when we come off the court and helping us get better throughout the course of a game or practice."
