Women's Soccer / Forward / Senior / Crete, Ill.
Adrianna Vera is a senior forward on the Maroon women's soccer team. In both of UChicago's wins this season, Vera has accounted for two goals in each contest, coming against MSOE and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Head Coach Amy Reifert: "As a senior leader, Adrianna has been an incredible mentor who sets the tone for every training with her work rate and demeanor. Her passion and excitement for our team and its success is remarkable and elevates our team daily. She has also had a great start to her senior year with four goals while creating lots of goal-scoring chances for her teammates and herself."
Teammate Hanna Watkins: "Vera is going to have an absolutely stellar season this year. Already she has been having a huge impact up top by firing up our offense, leading us in our press and challenging the goalkeeper. In practice, Vera is one of the hardest-working players out there. She brings an unrivaled edge and intensity that pushes our team to be better. It has been so much fun to play with Vera these past four years, and I cannot wait to see what our senior season holds!"
Other WAA nominees
Temilade Adekoya (Volleyball)
- Head Coach Sharon Dingman: "Temilade has taken on a much greater role on our team this fall and is thriving. In every match she’s played, she has gone in and changed the momentum of the match. Temilade has taken big swings, made outstanding defensive plays, and continues to be one of our best passers. She has executed this with the pressure of going into a match when those skills are most needed. She’s so much fun to watch play because she is a great athlete."
