The University of Chicago varsity athletic teams practice and compete on the fields located directly behind the Ratner Athletics Center, which is located at the corner of 55th Street and Ellis Avenue.
Amos Alonzo Stagg Field (football, soccer, lacrosse, softball, outdoor track)
The Stagg Field complex is named for UChicago football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg, who led the Maroons from 1892 to 1932.
The football playing surface is comprised of FieldTurf, with end zones located north and south. The playing field is encircled by Ted Haydon Track. Official seating capacity is 1,650.
The soccer field is located on the east grass next to the Ratner Athletics Center. The softball field is on the southeast grass next to the soccer field, with home plate facing out to the northwest.
Ted Haydon Track
Ted Haydon Track encircles the Stagg football field. It is named for UChicago track and field coach Ted Haydon, who coached at his alma mater from 1950 to 1985. The 400-meter track has eight competition lanes.
J. Kyle Anderson Field (baseball)
The baseball field is named in honor of J. Kyle Anderson, who played for the Maroon baseball team from 1926-28 and then returned as head coach from 1934 to 1971. J. Kyle Anderson Field is located between soccer and football, with home plate facing out to the southeast.
Stagg Tennis Courts
The Stagg Tennis Courts feature eight regulation courts and are located just west of the football field bleachers. The courts are bordered by 55th Street to the north and Cottage Grove Avenue to the west.
