CHICAGO – The University Athletic Association (UAA) recognized 92 University of Chicago fall sport student-athletes with the Association's All-Academic Recognition Award for 2016. A total of 577 student-athletes were honored from the eight conference schools.
UChicago was represented on the list by all six of its fall sports – football, volleyball, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's soccer.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The 3.30 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
