CHICAGO – For the second-straight week, the University of Chicago was recognized with four University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The UAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week was Robin Peter. The sophomore won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.90 at Saturday's Windy City Invitational. Her time is currently the fifth fastest in NCAA Division III so far this season.
The Windy City Invite also produced a big result for fellow sophomore Alexander Scott. The UAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week recorded the top shot put throw of his young career with a winning mark of 15.70 meters – the second-best indoor toss in school history. Scott is now ranked 18th in NCAA Division III in the shot put and leads the UAA by 1.29 meters.
Luke Tsai earned the weekly honor in men's tennis. The senior picked up a shutout win at second singles for No. 9-ranked UChicago, which defeated Hope College 9-0 on Saturday. Tsai defeated Danny Kroeze by scores of 6-0, 6-0. He now owns a 10-2 singles record and is riding an eight-match winning streak.
Agnes Lo was named the UAA Women's Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season. The sophomore took on tough competition at the University of Illinois-Chicago Diving Invitational over the weekend, which included NCAA Division I competitors from UIC, University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Illinois State University. Lo was runner-up on the three-meter board with 253.45 points and fifth in the one-meter dive with 260.65 points.
