CHICAGO – A total of 73 University of Chicago student-athletes received 2018 Spring All-Academic recognition from the University Athletic Association (UAA) on Tuesday.
The Maroon contingent included four spring sports – men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track & field. A total of 522 student-athletes from the eight UAA institutions were represented on the list.
Within the UAA, All-Academic recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300. The 3.300 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
