The doubles pairing of junior Tyler Raclin and sophomore Jeremy Yuan will represent UChicago men's tennis at the ITA Cup, which begins on Thursday in Rome, Ga. Raclin/Yuan enter as the No. 2 seed and their opening opponent will be No. 7-seeded Emory University.
Each division represented will feature eight singles players and eight doubles teams. Qualifiers won their respective ITA Regional tournaments to gain entry to the ITA Cup draw.
Raclin and Yuan earned their place last weekend, defeating the Maroon duo of senior Charlie Pei and first-year Joshua Xu 6-3, 6-1 to claim the ITA Central Region doubles title. It was their second-consecutive ITA Central Regional doubles championship and the fifth in-a-row for UChicago. At last year's ITA Cup, Raclin and Yuan won the Division III bracket with a perfect 3-0 record.

No. 1-ranked UChicago (11-0-1 overall, 2-0 UAA) will make a conference road trip this weekend, facing No. 13-ranked Carnegie Mellon University (8-1-2, 1-1 UAA) on Friday evening before a Sunday morning fixture against No. 19-ranked Case Western Reserve University (9-2-1, 0-1-1 UAA).
Last Saturday, the Maroons rolled to a 2-0 win in a conference showdown against No. 12-ranked Emory University in Atlanta. Following an early own goal, senior forward Max Lopez scored his 10th goal of the year in the 28th minute. That goal allowed Lopez to tie the school's career points record (120). Sophomore goalkeeper Aaron Katsimpalis made five saves and was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday.

This weekend, the No. 13-ranked Maroons (10-1-1 overall, 2-0 UAA) will travel east for two UAA matches. On Friday night, UChicago takes on No. 21-ranked Carnegie Mellon (7-3-1, 0-2 UAA). Case Western Reserve (6-5, 0-2 UAA) awaits on Sunday afternoon.
UChicago held off a late comeback attempt last Saturday for a 3-2 away win against Emory. First-half goals from juniors Rachel Dias and Mackenzie Peebles put the visitors in control, but first-year Nikola Charouzova's score in the 70th minute ended up making the difference as the Eagles scored twice in the final 10 minutes. The Maroons are currently averaging 3.08 goals per game, as 10 different players have scored multiple goals this season.

The UChicago men's and women's squads will compete at the annual University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational this Saturday.
The women's team claimed victory at the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational last Friday, while the men finished runner-up in the team standings. On the women's side, UChicago placed five runners in the top 15, led by junior Taylor Campos (5th). In the men's race, four Maroons finished in the top 20, including UAA Athlete of the Week Gavin Fujimori (5th).

The Maroons (3-2 overall, 1-0 MWC North) return to Stagg Field on Saturday afternoon for a Midwest Conference North divisional match-up against St. Norbert College (4-1, 1-0 MWC North).

Eighth-ranked UChicago (21-2, 3-0 UAA) heads to Pittsburgh for four matches in the second UAA Round Robin. The weekend begins with matchups against No. 12-ranked Emory (13-4, 2-1 UAA) and New York University (13-8, 1-2 UAA) on Saturday afternoon. The team then faces University Rochester (18-5, 0-3 UAA) on Sunday before wrapping up against hosts Carnegie Mellon (14-5, 3-0 UAA).
Last week. the Maroons claimed three victories, extending their winning streak to nine matches. UChicago climbed out of a 0-2 hole to rally past No. 15-ranked University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire 3-2. Senior rightside hitter Sarah Muisenga surpassed 1,000 career kills as well in a 3-0 sweep of Wheaton College, joining teammate Audrey Scrafford in that club. Muisenga is now the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000 kills.
