Indoor Track & Field

UChicago heads to North Central College for Friday afternoon's Pat Heenan Invitational.

The Maroons won 13 total events and cruised to a pair of team victories as host of the Windy City Rumble last Saturday. Junior Alexander Scott was the University Athletic Association Men's Field Athlete of the Week after posting a 16.26-meter throw in the shot put – a mark that ranks 11th in NCAA Division III. First-year Isabel Maletich currently ranks ninth in the nation in the triple jump at 11.55 meters.

Men's and Women's Tennis

The No. 3-ranked Maroon men (3-0 record) and No. 10-ranked UChicago women (2-0 record) take on a pair of regional foes in the state of Indiana this weekend. UChicago travels to DePauw University on Friday and then plays neutral site matches in Indianapolis versus Denison University on Saturday.

The Maroons tallied three wins last weekend, with a pair of victories against Hope College and a men's win against No. 25-ranked Kalamazoo College. Sophomore Jeremy Yuan earned UAA Athlete of the Week, going 4-0 between No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. Junior Marjorie Antohi leads the women's team with a 7-1 singles record so far this year.

Women's Basketball

No. 19-ranked UChicago (16-4 overall, 7-2 UAA) continues its road trip with UAA games at University of Rochester (9-11, 3-6 UAA) on Friday and Emory University (15-5, 6-3 UAA) on Sunday.

Senior forward Olariche Obi became the 13th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points last Sunday. Her first basket against Carnegie Mellon University secured her spot in the 1,000-point club. She shot 55 percent from the field over the weekend, and scored 19 points in only 17 minutes of action at Case Western Reserve University.

Men's Basketball

In week six of the conference schedule, the Maroons (13-7 overall, 6-3 UAA) travel to Rochester (16-4, 6-3 UAA) for a Friday night contest and Emory (16-4, 7-2 UAA) for a Sunday afternoon game.

Over his past five games, junior guard Jordan Baum is averaging 18 points per game while making 22 three-pointers in that time. The Maroons are shooting 39 percent from three-point range in that same time frame. Junior forward Cole Schmitz has reached double figures in scoring seven out of the past eight games.

No. 24-ranked UChicago (8-3 record) looks to defend its team title at Saturday's UAA Championship, hosted by Case Western Reserve. The three-team meet includes No. 17-ranked New York University (15-2) and the host Spartans (3-3).

Last year, the Maroons earned their first conference crown since 2011, snapping NYU's six-year title streak. Kahlan Lee-Lermer and Nick Ferraro picked up a pair of clutch pins at 165 and 174 pounds, respectively, to ultimately provide the winning points against the Violets. UChicago won its previous match on February 1 with a 39-18 triumph over Augustana College.
