CHICAGO – The University of Chicago was represented by 125 student-athletes on the University Athletic Association's 2018-19 Winter All-Academic Team on Tuesday.
A total of 720 student-athletes earned the distinction from amongst the eight conference schools.
The Maroons had honorees in each of their seven winter sports – men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's indoor track & field, and wrestling.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The 3.30 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
