CHICAGO – Three University of Chicago student-athletes were recognized as Players of the Week by three different conferences on Monday afternoon.
Karina Schulze was selected as Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). The first-year midfielder led the Maroons to a pair of wins over Concordia University Chicago and Calvin College. Schulze put up two goals, three assists, six groundballs, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers against Concordia Chicago. She followed that up with five goals, one assist, five groundballs, four draw controls and seven caused turnovers versus Calvin. So far this season, Schulze's 15 goals lead the CCIW.
Senior catcher Ian Bohn earned Baseball Position Player of the Week accolades from the Midwest Conference. The Maroons opened their season with a 2-1 record in a three-game series at Transylvania University. Bohn helped carry the offensive load, batting .462 on the weekend with three doubles, four RBI and two hit-by-pitches.
Agnes Lo was the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season. The junior captured NCAA regional titles in the one-meter dive (444.20 points) and three-meter dive (477.25 points). She will take part in the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships for the second time in her career.
