UChicago is sending a school-record 30 participants to the four-day NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships this week.
The Maroon contingent includes 13 men's swimmer, 13 women's swimmers and four women's divers. At last year's NCAAs, UChicago's men placed 12th and the women took 14th in the team standings. Junior Byrne Litschgi is the top seed in men's 200-yard backstroke and the seventh seed in the 100-yard backstroke. Junior Taye Baldinazzo is the sixth seed in the men's 200-yard freestyle. Junior George Reuter and first-year Nick Ding are the seventh and tenth seeds, respectively, in the men's 200-yard butterfly.

The Maroons make their season debut in Clermont, Fla. with a 12-game spring break trip from March 23-30.
In the 2018 season, UChicago posted as 20-17 record. Senior outfielder Maeve Garvey led the team with a .368 batting average, five home runs, 31 RBI, six doubles and 19 walks. Garvey's 84 career RBI are the third-most in school history. Senior outfielder Serena Moss stole 14 bases on 15 attempts.

UChicago (4-1 record) heads down to Texas for a three-game series at Schreiner University (8-12) this weekend.
The Maroons have allowed three runs or fewer in all four victories. The pitching staff's 1.89 ERA ranks 10th in NCAA Division III while the squad's 15.6 strikeouts/nine innings rank third. Senior first baseman Brady Sarkon paces the team with seven RBI while hitting for a .412 batting average.

After a two-week break, the Maroons (5-0 record) host Linfield College (1-2) on Sunday afternoon at Stagg Field.
UChicago currently ranks 17th in the nation with 17.0 goals per game, and 21st with a scoring margin of +9.6 per game. First-year midfielder Abbey Pouba scored five goals with one assist in the team's last contest – a 17-6 win versus Kalamazoo College. The Maroons are winning 61.5 percent of their draw controls this season.
