CHICAGO – A total of 65 University of Chicago student-athletes were included on the 2019 University Athletic Association (UAA) Spring All-Academic Team on Tuesday.
The eight UAA institutions combined for 558 recipients across eight sports.
Four Maroon sports were represented, including men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track and field, and women's outdoor track and field.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The 3.30 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
