No. 7-ranked UChicago (1-0-2 record) looks to build a winning streak with a pair of contests this week. First up is a road game at Hope College (3-1) on Tuesday evening, followed by a Friday night home match with Rowan University (3-1) on the Stagg Field turf.
The Maroons most recently defeated No. 21-ranked North Park University 3-1 in Saturday's home debut. Goals came courtesy of junior Bryce Millington, first-year Kameron Bloye and sophomore Vicente Mateus. Bloye's game-winning goal resulted in his first career University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honor on Monday. This will mark UChicago's first-ever meetings with Rowan and Hope in men's soccer.

The No. 23-ranked Maroons (2-1 record) take on a pair of regional opponents this week on the road at Hope College (0-1-3) on Wednesday night and at home versus Illinois Wesleyan University (1-3) on Saturday afternoon.
After absorbing a 1-0 loss to Pomona-Pitzer, UChicago bounced back with a dominating 6-0 victory against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology over the weekend. Senior forward Adrianna Vera tallied two goals for the second time this season – the third multi-goal game of her career. The Maroons have now outshot their three opponents by a combined tally of 69-14.

No. 8-ranked UChicago (6-1 record) seeks to maintain its hot streak with three more matches on tap. The Maroons go to Illinois Wesleyan (0-7) on Wednesday evening, then host University of Dubuque (6-3) and North Park University (5-3) in a Saturday tri-match.
At the IWU Classic, UChicago ran through the competition with a trio of 3-0 sweeps to stretch its win streak to five. Junior setter Emma Griffith and senior middle hitter Madison Pearson were both named to the All-Tournament Team. Griffith's 11.11 assists per set and 3.22 digs per set resulted in her second-straight UAA Athlete of the Week award. Pearson was a force offensively and defensively, scoring 3.11 kills per set while hitting .313 with 1.22 blocks per set.

The Maroons make their first appearance on the courts this season at the Chicago State University Invitational from Friday-Sunday. Opponents will include Chicago State, Valparaiso University, Cardinal Stritch University, Illinois State University, Bradley University and Bellarmine University.
UChicago posted a 16-6 record last season and advanced to the NCAA tournament quarterfinals for the fourth-straight year. Senior Marjorie Antohi (20-9 record) leads the returners at the top of the singles lineup. Sophomore Nicole Semenov owned the best singles winning percentage on the team (19-2, .905). The 2019-20 roster includes eight returners and five newcomers.
