CHICAGO – The University of Chicago was represented by 130 student-athletes on the 2019 University Athletic Association (UAA) Fall All-Academic Team on Tuesday.
The eight UAA institutions compiled 661 honorees on the list. Six Maroon sports were represented, including women's cross country, men's cross country, football, women's soccer, men's soccer and volleyball.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The 3.30 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
