UChicago Receives Four UAA Athlete of the Week Accolades

CHICAGO – Four University of Chicago student-athletes garnered Athlete of the Week honors from the University Athletic Association (UAA) on Monday.

Arthur Kiselnikov's record-setting weekend at the UAA Championships was rewarded with UAA Men's Swimmer of the Week. The first-year won four total events over the course of the meet, including the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay. Kiselnikov set new UAA records in both the 100 free (44.30) and 200 free (1:36.66). His efforts helped UChicago achieve a second-place team finish, nearly dethroning 22-time team champion Emory University. At the conclusion of the meet, he was voted by the coaches as UAA Men's Co-Swimmer of the Year and UAA Men's Rookie of the Year.

Agnes Lo's exploits at the UAA Championships were also recognized with UAA Women's Diver of the Week. The senior emerged victorious in both the one-meter dive (506.65) and three-meter dive (525.90). She was picked as the UAA Women's Diver of the Year for the third time in her career.

For the third time in the past four weeks, Isabel Maletich was named UAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week. Maletich went into the weekend with the third-best long jump in all of NCAA Division III. At the conclusion of North Central College's Pat Heenan Invitational, the sophomore took over the top spot in the nation after recording a leap of 5.88 meters.

The UAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week went to Perene Wang. The Maroon rookie helped lead the No. 8-ranked Maroons to a trio of team victories on the road in Michigan over Kalamazoo College (9-0), No. 28-ranked Hope College (6-3) and No. 29-ranked Case Western Reserve University (8-1). Wang went 3-0 at both No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles. On the season, she owns a 6-1 singles record and a 16-1 doubles record.
