CHICAGO – University of Chicago's Brian Bock received the Outstanding Service to Students Award as part of the 2019-20 Campus and Student Life Staff Awards.
The annual Campus and Student Life Staff Awards program recognizes staff members in Campus and Student Life who have made a valuable and appreciated impact on university life, whether through their interactions with students, faculty, and others, or through the development of new systems, policies, and programs.
Bock is the Associate Athletic Director for Recreation and Fitness within UChicago's Department of Athletics & Recreation. In that role, Bock provides oversight and leadership for the department's recreational sports and fitness programs. His areas of supervision include sport clubs, intramurals, recreational sports, fitness classes, personal training and facility rentals. The 2019-20 academic year marked Bock's 17th year of service within Athletics & Recreation.
The Outstanding Service to Students Award is presented to the staff member who has provided outstanding service to individual students or student groups on a consistent basis, whether through personal advising, development of programs, or improvements to university systems and policies that affect students.
