NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Chicago's 16th-ranked women's lacrosse program defeated Christopher Newport 6-4 in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Maroons (4-0) trailed 4-1 at halftime before scoring five unanswered second-half goals to down CNU on its home field. Lulu Hardy scored her 100th career goal in the victory and led the offensive effort with two goals and seven shots, six on target. Skylar Lienhardt also had two goals on three shots on target.

Katie Large had a goal and an assist and Lizzie Huesman added a goal to round out the UChicago scorers. Avery Song, Zoe Torok and Jane Chen each had one assist. Rachel Keefe earned the win in goal with another solid performance, stopping 10 shots in the win. Kali Konstantinakos had a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers to help anchor the defensive effort. UChicago held CNU to just eight second-half shots while the Maroons totaled 21 in the final two quarters.

UChicago takes on No. 21 Catholic on the road at Noon ET on Saturday, March 18 to conclude its spring break trip.
