EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's cross country team earned a second-place finish in the UAA Championships on Saturday afternoon. The top-two finish is the first for the Maroons since they finished second in 2005.

Sanju Patel led the Maroons with a top-five finish, racing to a time of 25:00.3. Patel was joined on the All-UAA First Team by Evan Parker (25:02.7) and Liam Eifert (25:03.8) to pace UChicago.

Spencer May also earned All-UAA honors with a 12th-place finish, giving him 2nd-Team honors.

May joined Siméon Gheysens and Sam Zwick-Lavinsky as the three Maroons to record collegiate-best times in the meet.

The University of Chicago men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, November 15, as the team travels to Waverly, Iowa for the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.
