EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's cross country team earned a third-place finish in the UAA Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Katja Dunayevich made history in her first career appearance in the UAA Championships as the first-year broke the UChicago freshman record with a time of 21:24.4. Her time earned her First Team All-UAAÂ honors and broke
Claudia Harnett's freshman record by just over two seconds.
Estelle Snider joined Dunayevich with All-UAA honors as Snider placed 12th with a time of 22:02.2, giving her Second Team honors.
Emma Kelly and
Maggie Horn also added top-20 finishes for the Maroons.
Six different Maroons recorded collegiate-best times in the meet, including Dunyevich, Horn,
Vivian Kelly,
Eva Devlin,
Rachel Singer, and
Olivia Resnick. The freshman duo of Kelly and Resnick also ran top-20 times by a freshman in University of Chicago history.
The University of Chicago women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, November 15, as the team travels to Waverly, Iowa for the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.
