CHICAGO -- The 7th-ranked University of Chicago men's basketball team returns to its home court on Saturday aftenoon to host Kalamazoo College. The Maroons are coming off a gritty win over Lake Forest on Wednesday night. 

#7 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* #7 UChicago enters the weekend with a 6-1 record on the season.
* Before Wednesday, the Maroons had a fantastic weekend sweep at the All-Academic Classic. UChicago took down Rhodes 84-70 and Colorado College 73-69 to complete the two-win weekend.
* Earlier this season, the Maroons broke the single-game school record with 18 made threes on 40 attempts in their win over Trinity (TX).
* UChicago rose up to #7 in the country in the latest D3hoops.com. This is the highest the Maroons have been ranked in the poll since they were ranked #6 in 2001.
* Shane Regan earned 1st-Team Preseason All-American honors, and Nick Roper added a 2nd-Team All-American selection to become the first two Preseason All-Americans in UChicago history.
* Roper leads the team with 15.9 points per game, including a 28-point performance in the win over Edgewood. He has also added 7.0 rebounds while shooting over 52% from the floor.
* Regan has also been exceptional for the Maroons with 16.7 points, 4 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 88.2% from the charity stripe.
* Eamonn Kenah joins the graduate student duo with 12.8 points per game on 51% shooting from the outside in 2025.
* Kenah earned UAA Player of the Week honors in the opening week. The senior averaged 21.5 points per game on 11-17 shooting from three for a 65% clip from deep. Kenah also became the first Maroon to be selected to D3hoops.com Team of the Week since the 2011-12 season.
* Head Coach Mike McGrath has compiled a career record of 363-261, and he ranks top 50 in NCAA DIII in active wins.
*  After hosting the Hornets on Saturday, the Maroons will prepare to go south. They'll suit up for two games at the Puerto Rico D3 Basketball Clasico starting December 18th. 

KALAMAZOO NOTES:

* The Hornets enter the week with a 2-4 record overall on the season. 
* Kalamazoo is coming off an overtime win over Earlham last Saturday. They edged out the Quakers 83-67 at home. 
* The Hornets haven't played a ranked team so far in their 2025-26 campaign. 
* Carter Bandemer leads the team, averaging 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. 
* Dougie Blackwood is closely following Bandemer in scoring. Averaging 11.0 points per game, the senior scored a season-high 19 in the win over Earlham. 
* Following their game with the Maroons, the Hornets will head to Crawfordsville, Indiana to take on Wabash next Wednesday night. 

SERIES HISTORY:

* UChicago holds the all-time record over Kalamazoo, 16-2. The Maroons have won the last 13 meetings. 
* The Maroons took down the Hornets 82-48 in Michigan last season.
* The first-ever meeting between the two sides took place in 2006, with the Maroons taking the win 93-59.
