WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Another breakout inning and stellar pitching gave the University of Chicago baseball team a 10-1 win against Keuka College on Saturday.

The Maroons improved to 7-4 and dropped the Wolves to 0-5. It marks UChicago's fourth win by at least eight runs this week. The offense has scored 10 or more runs in six games this season.

The hitters blew the game open in the second inning with eight runs. An error, a walk and a single filled the bases before sophomore shortstop Max Brzostowski's walk forced one in. Sophomore outfielder Connor Hickey drove in two with a double, and junior outfielder Maximiliano Larsen grounded out to score one more. Sophomore catcher Ian Bohn and senior first baseman Thomas Prescott followed with consecutive RBI singles. Sophomore designated hitter Brady Sarkon and sophomore outfielder Josh Parks each tallied back-to-back RBI doubles to push the lead to 8-0.

A sacrifice fly and a wild pitch in the fourth inning put UChicago ahead 10-1 and the game ended after five innings.

The Maroons tallied nine hits and committed three errors. Prescott and Sarkon were both 2-for-3 with one RBI each, while senior third baseman Tim Sonnefeldt went 2-for-2.

On the mound, sophomore Brenton Villasenor put together his third-straight quality outing to improve to 3-0. Villasenor struck out seven batters in four innings with no walks issued. He allowed seven hits and one unearned run to lower his season ERA to 0.56.
