CHICAGO -- "Winning isn't worthwhile unless one has something finer and nobler behind it."
Those words by the famous former Maroons football coaching legend Amos Alonzo Stagg were echoed by current University of Chicago head football coach Chris Wilkerson during his interview with Sports Illustrated's Monday Morning Quarterback (@MMQB) during its stop on UChicago's Hyde Park campus last weekend.
UChicago's football team was one of the parts featured in Thursday's latest release of the program's "Football in America" series, with Chicago the latest stop on the tour.
The online piece features both a video and written feature story by writer Kayln Kahler, with additional coverage of a local high school, community flag football and the Chicago Bears.
MMQB was on hand on Saturday, Oct. 21, to see the Maroons topple visiting Beloit 55-12 in front of over 1,500 fans on homecoming at Stagg Field. The video and story feature interviews from Wilkerson, Maroon alumni, and current players Chandler Carroll, Peter Casey and Jeremy Vincent.
