CHICAGO – An impressive offensive performance from the University of Chicago football team helped first-year Jeffrey Jackson secure Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday.
In his first collegiate start on Saturday, Jackson completed 22 of 31 passes for 234 yards, four touchdowns and one interception to lead the Maroons to a dominating 56-9 victory over Illinois College. He led an offense that totaled 470 yards and averaged 6.7 yards per play – both season highs. Additionally, he ran the ball six times for 26 yards.
UChicago has scored at least 50 points three times in the past two seasons.
