CHICAGO – A total of 111 University of Chicago winter sport student-athletes were honored with the University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Academic Recognition Award for 2015-16. Across the eight conference schools, 647 student-athletes were recognized.
The Maroons were represented in all seven of their winter sports – basketball (men's and women's), swimming & diving (men's and women's), indoor track & field (men's and women's), and wrestling.
Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300. The 3.300 GPA is the same academic standard used as a qualifying threshold by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
