CHICAGO – Four members of the University of Chicago men's basketball team were named to the 2015-16 All-Association Teams by the University Athletic Association (UAA) on Wednesday.
Jordan Smith, a Second Team All-UAA selection, earned his third career All-UAA honor. The senior guard surpassed 1,000 career points and finished with 1,160, which ranks 10th in UChicago history. Smith led the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game, including 14.3 PPG in conference play. He added 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest. Smith scored at least 20 points on five occasions during the season.
Alex Voss reclaimed his spot on the Second Team for the second-straight year. In his senior campaign, Voss ranked second on the team in scoring (10.9 PPG) while leading the Maroons in rebounding at 7.7 per game. The forward made a team-high 48 three-pointers and compiled 1.6 assists per game. Voss posted four double-doubles on the season and had six games with at least 10 rebounds.
Juniors Tyler Howard and Waller Perez were both Honorable Mention All-UAA recipients, marking the first all-conference recognition for each player. At point guard, Howard dished out a team-high 3.6 assists per game and posted a matching 3.6 rebounds per game. His 9.8 points per game during the season elevated to 11.9 PPG in UAA action.
Perez ranked second on the team in field-goal percentage at .543 for the season. His 10.7 points per game were third and he nabbed 4.1 rebounds per contest. The forward scored in double digits on 14 occasions, including 12 games in-a-row.
The Maroons concluded the season with a 17-8 overall record and an 8-6 mark in the UAA, which ranked fourth.
