Men's Basketball All-UAA Team

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago men's basketball team had four members selected to the 2018-19 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Association Team on Thursday.

Jordan Baum secured a First Team All-UAA spot in his junior season. The lefty point guard led the team in scoring (12.1 points per game), assists (6.0 per game) and steals (34). His 145 assists rank third all-time in UChicago's single season records. He also tied for the team lead in three-pointers made with 60. Baum's 5.0 rebounds per game were fourth-most on the squad.

A trio of Maroons were named Honorable Mention All-UAA – Noah Karras, Dominic Laravie and Cole Schmitz.

Karras tied for the team lead in three-pointers made with 60, shooting 36.1 percent from deep. For his career, the senior guard's 186 three-pointers rank fourth in the school's record books. Karras scored 11.7 points per game (third on the team) to go with 3.0 rebounds per game.

In his first year as a starter, Laravie posted the team's second-best scoring average at 11.8 points per game. He handily led the Maroons in free throws made with 75 on 101 attempts. The sophomore forward also contributed 5.2 rebounds per game and 20 steals.  

Schmitz also took advantage of his first-year starter status to put up 11.1 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. The junior guard made 38 three-pointers (36.5 percent). He added 5.4 rebounds per game, 47 assists and 17 steals.
