NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- After full regulation and two overtime periods, the No. 24-ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team took a tie with North Central College 0-0 on Saturday.
The Maroons now move to 3-2-1 and the Cardinals are now 4-2-2.
UChicago and North Central each had four shots in the first half, but the Maroons proved to be more of a threat by earning five corner kicks compared to one for the Cardinals. UChicago kept up the pressure in the second half and outshot North Central 11-4 and forced four saves. Senior midfielder Sawyer Kisken led the way with four shots, putting two on frame in the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brett Wiesen went the distance between the posts. He earned his second shutout of the season by chalking up five saves in 110 minutes of action. The Maroons outshot the Cardinals 21-11 with a 9-5 edge in corner kicks.
