CHICAGO – Four members of the University of Chicago men's soccer team were named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) on Tuesday.
Forward Max Lopez earned a repeat First Team selection – the third All-Region award of his career. The reigning University Athletic Association (UAA) MVP leads the Maroons in scoring with 19 goals and four assists. The junior has tallied eight game-winning goals this season.
Fellow junior forward Matthew Koh was also a First Team All-Region pick. The three-time All-Region performer ranks second on the squad in points with career highs of 10 goals and 11 assists.
Defensive midfielder Nicco Capotosto joins his teammates on the First Team for the second-straight season. In 21 starts, the junior has helped lead the defensive unit to 10 shutouts. Capotosto also has one assist to his credit.
Stacey Reimann received Second Team All-Region status. The senior defender has started 18 out of 20 games played, primarily at center back. The Maroon defense has limited teams to 15 goals this year for a 0.67 goals against average.
