CHICAGO – D3soccer.com selected four University of Chicago soccer players as 2018 All-Americans this week.
The Maroon women were represented on the list by senior Jenna McKinney. The midfielder was a First Team D3soccer.com pick for the third-straight season. She was previously the 2017 D3soccer.com Midfielder of the Year. McKinney totaled 10 goals and two assists in 2018 competition. The senior concluded her decorated career ranked second in program history in goals (43) and points (107), along with seventh in assists (21).
A trio of UChicago men made their returns to the All-American list. Senior Max Lopez secured First Team All-America for the third year in-a-row, which included D3soccer.com Forward of the Year accolades in 2017. This past season, the forward tallied 16 goals and six assists. He departs as the school's all-time leader with 54 goals and 133 points. Lopez's 25 assists place third in the career rankings.
Senior Matthew Koh was a First Team Forward for the second time in the wake of his career-best campaign. The 2018 season saw Koh rack up 14 goals and nine assists. At his forward position, he owns the most assists in program history (34), while also ranking fourth in points (98) and sixth in goals (32).
Senior Nicco Capotosto received Second Team honors as a defensive midfielder. He helped anchor a defense that totaled 12 shutouts while only allowing 17 goals in 22 games (0.76 goals against average). Capotosto was a D3soccer.com First Team All-American back in 2016. The senior's career numbers include one goal and nine assists. The Maroon defense tallied 44 shutouts in his four years on the squad.
