Maroons swim at day one of the Midwest Invite

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago swim teams competed at day one of the Midwest Invitational on Friday night.

UChicago's women lead the six-team meet with 202.5 points. The Maroon men stand in second with 123.5 points, trailing Washington University-St. Louis with 238.5 points.

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team picked up a win in 1:37.95. The relay quartet included freshman Yifan Mao, senior Maya Scheidl, sophomore Hannah Eastman and senior Abby Erdmann.

Eastman and Mao were also runner-up finishers in the 200-yard IM and the 50-yard freestyle, respectively. UChicago's men were led by second-place showings from freshman Byrne Litschgi in the 200-yard IM and sophomore Alexander Farrell in the 50-yard freestyle.
