CHICAGO – The University of Chicago swimming and diving teams dominated the field in both men's and women's team's first home meet of the year, sweeping visiting Wheaton College at Myers-McLoraine Pool Saturday.

The women's side captured 14 of 16 events en route to a 222-71 win over the Thunder, including seven events – the 400-yard medley relay, the 100 backstroke, both diving events, the 200-yard backstroke, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard IM – where the Maroons swept for first, second, and third places.

Sophomores Nicole Lin, Elizabeth Shen. Taylor Hammill and first-year Alice Ye all won two titles, as both part of relay teams and each with an individual win Saturday. Lin took first in the 100 breast stroke (1:07.40), Shen in the 200 free (1:59.86), Hammill in the 200 back, and Ye in the 200 IM (2:12.23) for UChicago, who also saw individual event titles by Audrey Mason (1,000 free), Vivian Wu (100 back), Elizabeth Cron (1-meter diving), Margaret Wolfson (200 breast), Nadia Redza (500 free), Nicole Garcia (100 fly and  Agnes Lo (3-meter diving).

The Maroon men also ran away with the dual meet win, downing Wheaton by a score of 190-90.

UChicago won all but three events in 13 wins, sweeping 1-2-3 in five of those: the 400 medley relay, the 200 free, the 100 backstroke, the 200 breast stroke, and the 100 butterfly.

Junior Byrne Litschgi was a part of three titles, taking first as part of the 400 medley relay and capturing both the 50 free (21.79) and 100 butterfly (52.77) events. He joined teammate Lance Culjat with three wins, as the junior and returning All-American won three individual events: the 100 breaststroke (58.55), the 200 breaststroke (2:08.93) and the 200 IM (1:57.95).

Nick Ding (200 free and 400 free relay), George Reuter (both relays), and Martin Baffico (100 back and 200 back) also had multiple wins for the Maroons. Rounding out the individual title winners for the men were Georgios Tzortzis (1,000 free), Anton Generalov (100 free), and Keda Song (500 free).
