Maroon Swimming & Diving Hosts Day One of Midwest Invitational

CHICAGO – In their final tune-up before the national meet, the University of Chicago swimming & diving teams hosted day one of the Midwest Invitational on Friday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

The UChicago women produced a two-three finish in the 200-yard IM. Sophomore Elizabeth Shen finished in 2:08.85 and senior Simone Stover touched at 2:12.29. In the 50-yard freestyle, junior Yifan Mao was third in 24.18.

On the men's side, sophomore Alexander Qu put up a time of 2:02.21 in the men's 200-yard breaststroke time trial – a mark that would qualify for last year's national meet. Sophomore Tucker Rivera was the top Maroon placer, taking fifth in the 200-yard IM (1:58.23).
